Long Time No Post.. And We Have A Little Boy Person!

I haven't abandoned the blog, I simply had to go off and have the Little Boy Person :) Things have been just a little bit on the nutty side around here. The Little Pretties are acting out just a wee bit and sort of making me want to take The Little Boy Person and go back to the hospital where it was quiet and they brought me food ;) I'm pretty sure they wont take me back though... It sort of helps that Mr. Pretties is on holidays for the rest of the week to help but at the same time it's making it a little bit more chaotic having another person around. The Little Little Pretty is taking our new addition a little hard. She was the baby for two years, and now she's not. She's also a major Daddy's girl. She mostly ignores The Little Boy Person which is okay, I'd rather that then her be mean. But she's not mean spirited so this is how she rolls. The Big Little Pretty wants to be the mommy. Too much. Which means I have to hover constantly incase she decides to try and pick him up, feed him, take him for a walk, etc... because you just never know with her and I don't really want to find out.

Meaghan-Marie's is back open again and we'll be adding more stock in about a weeks time. We had major set backs last week due to a couple of packages getting lost in the mail and not turning up, after I remade them and paid to have them fast shipped. I'm totally annoyed by this. After remaking them and paying for quick shipping those sales had actually cost me $15 each and I still ended up with angry customers. I think insurance will now become mandatory as well as an acknowledgement that once a package leaves my hands I have no control over it. I ofcourse want everyone to be happy, but with three little ones I can only do so much to appease everyone. We tried to find a new courier, but I'm thinking no one wants to pay $8.00 to ship $3.00 worth of clippies! The prices are rediculous. So for now we'll be insuring everything because I wont have this happen again! Oy!

I got the cutest 'Caboodles' in the mail today for clippies, they are so adorable I just want to keep them and play with them! I think I'll only use three of them for clippies to list and use the other two for the Little Pretties, I think that's only fair. I also got my flat plate bobby pins in the mail so I can go about adhering my felty balls and listing those sweethearts too. Woohoo! I think I'll make myself a set of those too, that way when we're out in public and I look beyond disgusting because I don't have time to shower/brush hair/eat/sleep/etc... people will just notice my felty balls and ignore the rest. Then they will be so attracted to those little furry funs that they'll want them too no doubt! This is an excellent plan, no flaws at all. You'd think I'd have more time to put these plans into action while Mr. Pretties is around as a second set of hands, but, I don't. Some how he thinks things like laundry/cooking/dishes/etc... out rank crafting. I think he'd be a much happier person if he reassessed his priorities... just saying...

Also, for all those who had freebies coming their way, they are coming your way. I made the mistake of putting Mr. Pretties in charge of shipping this week while I was away... yeah... that should explain why the envi's were still sitting on my desk when I got home instead of in the post box. Dummy. I'm mailing them this afternoon when we take The Little Boy Person for his weight check. Expect them shortly, and accept my apologies for having faith in Mr. Pretties, that was bad judgement on my part and it wont happen again.

Possibly The Worst Day Ever...

My beloved Ralphie has passed away. He went to his appointment tonight and his eye couldn't be saved. He was so ill that his needle wasn't even empty before he put his head on my arm and went for the long sleep. He will be terribly, terribly missed and we're all deeply grieving for him. The vets were nice enough to eat most of the costs as well as make me a plaster paw print that'll be ready in a few days. My poor boy.

In addition, our other cat Thomas is on his way out as well. He's always been unwell and the vets could never figure out why. I expect he'll be gone by the morning but we just can't fund another euthansia today.

Mr. Pretties even shed a few tears over Ralphie's untimely departure, he wasn't with us long but he made a huge impression and left sweet paw prints on our hearts.

ETA: Thomas has also officially passed away solidifying the fact that this is indeed the worst. day. ever.

This is the one and only picture we have of Ralphie, I tried to get his good side ;) The Vet must've thought I was nuts for wanting to take pictures at a time like this. Did I mention the clinic was so great they even made me a plaster paw print of Ralphie's to take home? How amazing is that? I can't wait to pick it up, it'll be nice to have something.

I know I have pictures (Loads) of Thomas as well, but they aren't labelled so I have to c lick through 2,382 pictures to find them. Maybe later. He was a big orange tabby as well. I dropped him off at the same veterinary clinic as Ralphie this morning so they'll be cremated together and they can hang out on the Rainbow Bridge like pals. Some how this eased my mind even if it doesn't really make sense.

We Have Batteries! But No Pictures...

... Yeah I suck. But, I'll be back tomorrow to post some pictures :)

Mr. Pretties is now on holidays for two weeks while we wait for The Little Boy Person to make his appearance, so he's sort of infringing on my blogging time. I know, it really sucks. Alot. But I'll make a better effort starting tomorrow.

I made The Little Boy Person an upholstered wipes container Friday night. It's black and cream toile with black ribbon and a black 'E'. It's really not the best one I've ever made, but I was running out of time, fabric, ribbon, and patience. I'm really not as crafty when Mr. Pretties is home. He sort of saps my creativity and stuff. It is cute though. I have another container that I'm going to do and list on Etsy now that I have batteries for my 'list-a-thon'. Woohoo! I seriously (Yes, I) bought a pack of batteries at every store I've been to this weekend. That should covered me for, oh, about a week.

Remember my post about my sweetheart stray Ralphie? Well Ralphie came home with a mighty bunged up eye the other night. I couldn't get him a vet appointment until tomorrow. He. Looks. Rough. I'm about 97% sure he's going to lose the eye. Everytime I see it it just makes me want to cry (and throw up a little...). My poor boy. Poor Mr. Pretties wallet too because he's going to cost a fortune tomorrow. Some wonderful person on Craigslist suggested we drop him off at the SPCA and they'll surely fix him up and then put him up for adoption :) Uh huh. I worked for a veterinary clinic that worked with the SPCA and I know all to well about 'Kill Day' at the shelter every other week. The only new family my dear Ralphie would be meeting would be the frozen one in the basement freezer waiting for the cremator to pick them up. I'm glad there are folks out there though that still believe the SPCA is a magical place that fixes up all animals and helps them on their way. Surely they help some, but if you're looking to find a new home for a pet, that's pretty much not the way to go. The Toronto Humane Society is supposed to be really good though! So is Burlington Humane, they're 100% no-kill (I volunteered there and know this for a fact) and a really awesome group of people. So, hopefully tomorrow isn't too traumatic for Ralphie and I. If I go into labour Mr. Pretties has already received strict instructions that he is still to take care of this situation because when I get home I do not want to see his eye still looking like that. I will be very angry if it does. But I wont punish you all with the gruesome pictures.

This is a link to an 'inspirational' story about a stray cat named 'Ugly', but inspirational I mean if you have a shred of compassion for animals you will be a crying mess for days. Or, that could just be me. But this just reminds me of what would become of Ralphie if he wasn't with us and I just couldn't bare it. This story is like a canker sore to me, I know it hurts and it brings tears to my eyes but a few weeks later I stumble upon and read it again knowing full well what'll happen. I shall update on Ralphie's situation tomorrow, hopefully we'll have some good news. I'll still love him even with one eye, I'll just feel really bad for him because he had two perfect ones a week ago.

I think that's all that's going on for now... I'll be back tomorrow with some pictures, some updates, and with any luck something interesting to blog about!
